With the wool-hemp jacquard, there are always tiny holes in the fabric. Unfortunately, these cannot be completely ruled out due to the irregular hemp yarn. Larger holes will of course be cut out by us, but 1-2 small holes per running meter must be accepted.

wool hemp

A new and exciting fabric knit at Danisch Pur - 70% hemp (organic) and 30% wool (organic, merino, as always mulesing-free)

Wool doesn't mix well with many other fibers in our opinion, as most types of fabric require more care and need to be washed at higher temperatures to get clean.

Wool, on the other hand, requires very little care due to its self-cleaning properties.

Hemp, on the other hand, has a similarly low maintenance requirement as wool in many respects. Hemp fibers are also self-cleaning and can also ventilate odors such as sweat or (small amounts) of urine. Therefore, just like pure wool or wool/silk, a wool/hemp mixture can be cleaned little and at low temperatures.

combination and cuffs

Other wool/hemp jacquard fabrics from our range are suitable as a combination, but also thicker wool jersey , cozy boiled wool or terry cloth .

Since the fabric is a bit heavier, we recommend the heavy rib in the tube as a cuff fabric for a good hold.

The basic shade of the anthracite wool cuff matches the wool hemp anthracite jacquard exactly, as everything is made from the same yarn dyeing.

design samples

We are also happy to show some design examples in the photos that were made available to us by enthusiastic customers. Many thanks again!

We try to keep the links up-to-date, but links will sometimes go nowhere if the relevant fabrics are sold out in the meantime. Since we have a constantly changing range, this unfortunately cannot be ruled out. So if the link goes nowhere, the substance is currently not purchasable. But don't worry: popular fabrics keep coming back.

The little pant with the drawstring is a favorite of Fred from SOHO , the wool/hemp jacquard is sewn inside out for the pant, and inside the pockets right side. The large pants are sewn according to the freebook bloomers JoJo by Jo Mina and were combined with the red wool/hemp jacquard .

hemp/wool

A new and exciting fabric knit at Danisch Pur - 70% hemp (organic) and 30% wool (organic, merino, as always mulesing-free)

Characteristics

Wool is naturally self-cleaning and antibacterial. It absorbs moisture without feeling clammy and transports it outwards, away from the body. Merino new wool is very finely crimped, does not scratch and is wonderfully soft and fluffy.

Hemp also has special skin-climatic properties. As with wool, the fibers naturally regulate the temperature. In summer they keep you cool and in winter they create a cozy climate. Under the microscope it becomes clear why: The fibers have small air pockets through which the fiber "breathes". On cold days, they fill up with body heat and store it. On warm days, they ensure an airy feel.

Robustness (especially for children's clothing)

Hemp is one of the most robust natural fibers there is. Clothing made of hemp is known to last forever, even with daily wear.

Tests have shown that hemp fibers are four to seven times more resilient than cotton threads of comparable thickness. It is therefore also perfectly suitable for children of romping and climbing age.

feel

The fabric is a firm and stable pants fabric with a slight stretch. The soft merino wool makes it pleasantly cuddly. Although it has a fairly high basis weight, it is knitted thinly and is therefore easy to sew.

care instructions

Like wool garments, our hemp/wool blend can be hand and machine washed. We recommend machine washing on a wool cycle up to a maximum of 30 degrees with liquid organic wool detergent. Detergent powder is not recommended for hemp, as the grains can sneak into the air pockets and permanently destroy the structure there.

sewing instructions

Our wool/hemp mixture can be sewn on the overlock as well as on the conventional sewing machine.

It is recommended to finish the open edges.

Softer than expected

I would have imagined it to be rougher, I'm pleasantly surprised :)

Comfortable pants fabric

Great fabric for outerwear. We use it for pants & skirts. I can also imagine the west very well. Versatile variations are possible by using both sides of the fabric. That's what makes the material so interesting.

Great pants fabric

The fabric can be sewn on both sides and is great for trousers. The optics make it an eye-catcher itself and still nice to combine.

fabric for outerwear

I sewed the fabric for pants and a vest. Due to the herringbone pattern, the little one's outfit looks quite festive and is certainly also suitable for parties.
