Coats Astra sewing thread is a high-quality polyester thread* certified to Oeko-Tex Standard 100. Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is not an organic product, even though the name unfortunately suggests this and is often misunderstood. The standard refers to compliance with limits for harmful substances, which are then confirmed by the certificate.

Unfortunately, we haven't had good experiences with pure organic cotton threads or similar materials regarding tear resistance and sewability, and therefore opted for the polyester version. This yarn is a practical all-purpose thread for wool, silk, and all other types of fabric. It produces durable and long-lasting seams, ensuring that the seam appearance remains attractive throughout the entire lifespan of the garment. We have tried to match the yarn colors as closely as possible to the colors in our fabric color palette. Slight variations are naturally occurring.
