Reversible shirt Emil&Emilia

The Emil&Emilia reversible shirt is a basic garment for summer (or for layering in winter), whose dropped shoulders make it suitable for children of all ages.

Suitable for girls and boys, for hot days to protect against direct sunlight and less hot days to protect against cool breezes.

It is close-fitting but not tight, airy for slimmer children, yet comfortable for sturdier children thanks to the very stretchy fabrics.

Why the name reversible shirt?

It has no front and back, but consists of two identical pieces of fabric, so that either side can be worn as the front as desired, and even for small children who dress themselves there is only one "right way".

The reversible Emil&Emilia shirt is perfect for using up fabric scraps and finally sewing up that last piece of your favorite fabric that isn't quite enough for a whole garment. Seams can easily be incorporated, allowing even smaller scraps to be used.

This reversible shirt was designed for highly stretchy wool-silk fabrics, thin wool jersey, and wool-hemp jersey from Danisch Pur. Other jersey or interlock fabrics were not tested.

Difficulty level

Thanks to the detailed, illustrated instructions, this sewing pattern is also suitable for beginners. You can also always find helpful support in the Danish Pure Wool/Silk group on Facebook.

Shipment

The sewing pattern is a digital item that will be available for download via email and in your customer account after payment is received. The pattern is available in A1 and A4 formats.

Material consumption

The fabric requirements are shown in one of the pictures here in the shop. In addition, you will need cuffs, some of which can be cut from existing wool/silk scraps.
