The Walkdeern is - as the name suggests - a sewing pattern for a boiled wool dress.
Anyone familiar with boiled wool will surely appreciate this beautiful material; it provides pleasant warmth, but just enough so that you don't sweat.
A more detailed explanation of the material felt and wool in general can be found in the ebook in the chapter "Little Felt Knowledge".
The pattern features so-called princess seams for a perfect fit.
In addition to a sheath dress line, it also includes a slightly flared version.
You can sew the dress with a facing in the upper area, turn up and hem the neckline and armholes, or sew with raw edges; all variations are described in the instructions.
The dress is sleeveless and is typically worn over a long- or three-quarter-sleeved shirt. For optimal comfort, we recommend a wool or wool/silk shirt. A cotton jersey shirt is also a good option.
The dress ends just above the knee and can be lengthened or shortened as desired. It is designed for a height of 168 cm.
The pattern is designed for knitted boiled wool fabric, such as the cozy boiled wool from Danisch Pur, but boiled wool or jacquard sweat fabrics are also suitable. Non-stretch fabrics such as wool loden are not recommended.
