Slight discount

On the fabric there are always about 2mm small holes through the knitting. There may be 1-2 holes per running meter, often there will be no holes. However, since cutting and estimating the quantity becomes exorbitantly difficult for us when we are looking for the mini holes, we decide to take the small discount route. The holes can then either be left out when cutting or secured briefly with topstitching.

Wool hemp jacquard

An exciting knitted fabric at Danisch Pur - 70% hemp (organic) and 30% wool (organic, merino, as always mulesing-free).

As with all fabrics, we recommend a pre-wash, as the fabric can shrink by between 10-15% even at 30 degrees in the wool washing program, depending on the washing machine or method.

Wool doesn't mix well with many other fibers in our opinion, as most types of fabric require more care and need to be washed at higher temperatures to get clean.

Wool, on the other hand, requires very little care due to its self-cleaning properties.

Hemp, on the other hand, has a similarly low maintenance requirement as wool in many respects. Hemp fibers are also self-cleaning and can also ventilate odors such as sweat or (small amounts) of urine. Therefore, just like pure wool or wool/silk, a wool/hemp mixture can be cleaned little and at low temperatures.

combination and cuffs

Other wool/hemp jacquard fabrics from our range are suitable as a combination, but also thicker wool jersey , cozy boiled wool or terry cloth .

Since the fabric is a bit heavier, we recommend the heavy rib in the tube as a cuff fabric for a good hold.

The basic shade of the mottled sage cuffs matches the wool hemp braided jacquard pattern perfectly, as everything is made from the same yarn dyeing.

design samples

We are also happy to show some design examples in the photos that were made available to us by enthusiastic customers. Thank you again for that!

We try to keep the links up-to-date, but links will sometimes go nowhere if the relevant fabrics are sold out in the meantime. Since we have a constantly changing range, this unfortunately cannot be ruled out. So if the link goes nowhere, the substance is currently not purchasable. But don't worry: popular fabrics keep coming back.

hemp/wool

A new and exciting fabric knit at Danisch Pur - 70% hemp (organic) and 30% wool (organic, merino, as always mulesing-free)

Characteristics

Wool is naturally self-cleaning and antibacterial. It absorbs moisture without feeling clammy and transports it outwards, away from the body. Merino new wool is very finely crimped, does not scratch and is wonderfully soft and fluffy.

Hemp also has special skin-climatic properties. As with wool, the fibers naturally regulate the temperature. In summer they keep you cool and in winter they create a cozy climate. Under the microscope it becomes clear why: The fibers have small air pockets through which the fiber "breathes". On cold days, they fill up with body heat and store it. On warm days, they ensure an airy feel.

Robustness (especially for children's clothing)

Hemp is one of the most robust natural fibers there is. Clothing made of hemp is known to last forever, even with daily wear.

Tests have shown that hemp fibers are four to seven times more resilient than cotton threads of comparable thickness. It is therefore also perfectly suitable for children of romping and climbing age.

feel

The fabric is a firm and stable pants fabric with a slight stretch. The soft merino wool makes it pleasantly cuddly. Although it has a fairly high basis weight, it is knitted thinly and is therefore easy to sew.

care instructions

Like wool garments, our hemp/wool blend can be hand and machine washed. We recommend machine washing on a wool cycle up to a maximum of 30 degrees with liquid organic wool detergent. Detergent powder is not recommended for hemp, as the grains can sneak into the air pockets and permanently destroy the structure there.

sewing instructions

Our wool/hemp mixture can be sewn on the overlock as well as on the conventional sewing machine.

It is recommended to finish the open edges.

Sturdy fabric

Slightly scratchy but robust fabric in a wonderfully soft colour. Ideal for children's trousers

Favorite color with a fine pattern

Sage is the favorite color for the whole family - with the new braided pattern of the WH, this one looks classier than the "fish grade brothers", with the same robustness!

WOW, words fail me

I love all wool/hemp jacquard fabrics so far, but this one and the chocolate-cherry-colored one really blow my mind, the braided pattern is so beautiful and conjures up something special! I am very enthusiastic and would like to bunker some forever so that the children always have something of it.

Did you know that hemp is one of the most sustainable plants in the textile sector, if not THE most sustainable plant of all?

Feel free to have a look at our blog, where we, as absolute hemp fans, have told you more about it.
