Final confirmation from us
We can only hold the event if a minimum number of tickets are sold. Therefore, please wait to book your hotel or similar accommodations until we send you confirmation. We will wait one week after ticket sales begin to see if the minimum number has been reached and will then contact you again with confirmation or cancellation.
Time and place
We will meet on Friday afternoon from 5 pm in the event room in Hannover Kirchrode (you will receive the exact address after registration and receipt of payment ).
We'll start around 6 pm with a short round of introductions, and then we'll be there until 8 pm to sew together. If you coordinate amongst yourselves, you're welcome to sew late into the night and then unlock the door for us again in the morning.
We'll start again at 9 a.m. on Saturday and wind down the weekend with a final session around 4 p.m. Sewing will also be possible late into the night on Saturday, so one of us will only be coming by around midnight to pick up the key. We would just ask that you help us tidy up briefly so we don't have to spend too much time cleaning up at midnight.
There will be the option to go to the storage area (about a 10-minute walk) to get fabric and cut it out on the large cutting tables there. However, we will spend most of our time in the sewing room.
Directions
The best way to get there is by public transport. The Bleekstraße underground station is only about 200m from the event space. There is very limited parking available directly at the venue.
If you have a lot of luggage, you can also send some items to our store in advance by post or train; this has been done successfully in the past.
Culinary provision
Drinks, coffee, tea, small snacks and a small vegetarian lunch snack for Saturday will be provided (pizza and salad).
Machinery fleet
Please bring your own machines – some can be borrowed from us, or you can share them with each other so that everyone only needs to bring a little. Experience has shown that we end up with far too many machines lying around that aren't used. Therefore, it's really a good idea to coordinate beforehand and have each person bring only one or at most two machines.
Space and facilities
There is space on the tables for at least one machine for everyone - space is limited (but of course you can bring two machines and swap them out every now and then or squeeze two machines together).
We have a lounge for chatting and snacks, and we'll also be offering screen printing sessions there for a limited time, so you can try it out. Feel free to bring along a shirt with a stain that you'd like to print over, or embellish your new sewing projects. We'll only charge a small fee to cover material costs.
Children traveling with children
Unfortunately, children from crawling age onwards cannot come along :-( - the needles or rotary cutters lying around and the mass of cables are simply too dangerous.
Babies in slings or similar carriers are of course very welcome.
Online group for preliminary exchange
We'll set up a Facebook group before the event so you can coordinate things like machine swaps and accommodation. If you'd like us to add you to the group, please include your Facebook name in your order. We'll then send you a friend request, and you'll be added to the group once you accept.
Feel free to bring along any sewn items you have questions about, or clothing that just needs coverstitching if you'd like to try it out – we have a coverstitch machine on site and a trained seamstress with fantastic ideas who will be happy to help. Don't miss this opportunity; Susanne always has great ideas! You can also bring along any garments that don't fit well, and she'll show you how to alter them to fit you better!
Fabric purchase on site and in advance
On both days, there is also the possibility to buy fabrics from our warehouse.
Payment options on site are cash (our preferred method as there are no transaction fees) or PayPal. Unfortunately, we do not have a card reader.
If you already know you'd like to buy certain fabrics, feel free to order them in advance and mention that they're for the sewing event. That way, we can cut the fabrics to size beforehand. Of course, you can still make other purchases on-site!
Payment and cancellation terms
We need to book the venue and caterer in advance, so we're stuck with the costs for last-minute cancellations. Therefore, cancellations are free of charge up to three weeks before the event. After that, we'll retain half the ticket price if neither you nor we can find a replacement. If a replacement is found, you'll of course receive a full refund.
Please pay within one week of purchasing your ticket , otherwise we can give the ticket to someone from the waiting list.
